Reliance Jio: Now, Jio Customers will have to Pay 6 Paisa Minute
The days of free voice calls are over for Reliance Jio users. Wednesday, the company announced that it will charge customers 6 paisa per minute for voice calls made another networks. However, the company will compensate customers by providing free data of the same value. When Jio entered the market, it has promised to provide free data of equal value to offset the burden on its consumers. No doubt, this new has come as a surprise for Jio subscribers who have been enjoying free voice calls for so far.
Jio said that it will charge its users for outgoing call to offload the pressured of interconnect usage charge rates set by the Telecom Regulatory Authority of India. The company claimed that it has paid total Rs 13,500 crore to other operators in the IUC charge form in the last three years. And, because the company did not charge its customers for voice calls, Jio had to bear this. Consumers will pay IUC charges until TRAI introduce the fee down to zero that is expected to happen on January 1, 2020. The new rule by Jio is already in effect, so here are some important points about it.
Now, Jio customers calling someone using a different operator will have to pay 6 paise per minutes till the time you keep ringing.
The telecom giant is offering four new IUC plans with additional data benefits:
IUC Top-UP Voucher Amount
IUC Minutes (Non-Jio Mobiles)
Free Data Entitlement (GB)
This rule is only for non-Jio users All Jio to Jio calls will continue to remain free including all incoming calls, Jio to a landline, etc.
The analyst believes that this move will support rivals Airtel and Vodafone-Idea, which has been going through a lot of financial loss.
